Another motorcyclist killed in Curry Ford crash

3:22 p.m. EST, November 18, 2012

A motorcyclist was killed this morning in a crash with a car on Curry Ford Road east of Orlando.

The victim was driving east on Curry Ford when he collided with a Hyundai Elantra that was attempting to turn left from Pinebranch Drive onto Curry Ford, according to Florida Highway Patrol Trooper Montgomery Haight. He was killed at the scene.

The driver of the Hyundai, 66-year-old Margaret McCullough of Orlando, was taken to ORMC in stable condition, Haight said. Firefighters had to remove the roof and driver's door to extricate her.

The 20-year-old motorcyclist has not been identified yet, pending notification of next of kin.

The crash, which happened just before 9:30 a.m., closed down Curry Ford in both directions for about two hours just east of Goldenrod Road. The roadway has since reopened.

A similar accident on Curry Ford Road killed a 22-year-old motorcyclist last Saturday. In that crash, Joshua Raim Kalphat Lopez died after an SUV turned into his path.
